FOLEY ARTIST
Foley Art that I started performing in 2004 with the television series “Cemberimde Gul Oya” is passed down from generation to generation in my family. It was first taught by my grandfather who was the founder of the first Oren Film Studios, to my father and by my father to me. The first Oren Film Studios, founded by my grandfather Turgut Oren in 1970 in Istanbul’s Beyoglu district, was one of the very few studios in Turkey providing services in multiple areas such as dubbing, sound design, coloring, subtitles, foley and final mix. The first studios operated until 2000 and afterwards, following my family’s footsteps, I founded Turkey’s first Foley Studio “Oren Film” in 2011.
ABOUT US
I performed Foley Art for over 300 TV shows and more than 100 movies both for television and Turkish & international digital streaming service providers during my career. Besides working for 2 films that won Golden Orange Award and 1 film that won Adana Golden Boll Award, I also performed foley live on stage for special events and charity organizations such as for radio plays, for the 3rd International Bosphorus Film Festival Award Ceremony, for the audio books dedicated to visually impaired audience by Galata Dialogue Association. I won Ustun Akmen Award in the Best Sound Design category for my foley effects consultancy services to the radio play “Radyatro Show” presented by Akla Kara Theater.
What is Foley?
Foley is the reproduction of everyday sound effects carefully synchronized with their visual counterpart, in the recording studio or in their naturally occurring acoustic environment, for films, television shows, radio plays, audio books and other media in post-production to enhance audio quality.
